Networking should be a part of our life. Networking…some people love it; some people hate it. We very often will hear that extrovert love networking and introvert don’t. For me networking did not exist until I moved to the USA. For the last few years, I have left my conform zone many times and went out for networking event. What I have learned is that networking needs to become a part of your professional life especially if you are a business owner.

If you have not done networking before, first get your mindset on the right spot. You need to have a purpose why you want to go to the networking event. You do not want to force yourself for something that just will take your time. That can bring frustration. But if you have a purpose you will be able to leave that comfort zone and with small steps get used to it.

If you are a job seeker networking will help to achieve your goal to find a job. If you are a business owner your networking will help you to get business connections.

You need to choose wisely which networking event you want to attend, who you want to meet and what kind results you want to have at the end of event. Most of all don’t beat yourself up if things did not go perfect or how you planned. Some things you cannot predict. One step at a time.

You want to start business or grow business; you won’t be able to do it without networking. It might be not comfortable at the beginning. If you are introvert it will take a time to get used to it, but you will see results for your business if you leave your comfort zone.

It all goes back to the fear. Control your mind and stop thinking about the fear. Dale Carnegie said: “Face the thing that seems overwhelming and you will be surprised how your fear will melt away”.

Surround yourself with people as they bring a value to your life and business.
